Daniel Farke has told Leeds United fans to expect a quiet January transfer window but it appears Elland Road scouts were in attendance to watch Plymouth’s 1-0 win over Brentford on the weekend.
Despite Farke’s constant rhetoric that January will be quiet for Leeds, reports suggest different. Indeed, it has been claimed that German boss Farke wants four new signings to bolster the club’s promotion push.
A new striker, centre-back, full-back and midfielder are said to be on Farke’s radar especially, with Joe Gelhardt set to join Hull. Charlie Crew is also available for loan and Blackburn are eyeing Patrick Bamford.
Farke may be saying it will be quiet for Leeds in January but that has not stopped the club from working. Indeed, Leeds scouts were in attendance to watch a Plymouth player on Saturday away at Brentford.

Leeds United want Plymouth defender with scouts impressed
LeedsUnited.News understands that Leeds are taking a close look at Plymouth’s versatile full-back Bali Mumba. Elland Road scouts watched him on Saturday as Argyle produced a shock win over Brentford.
The Sunderland academy product is in his third season at Plymouth. Initially joining the club on loan in the summer of 2022, he signed permanently in 2023 and has since played 121 times for Plymouth.
Able to play on either side of the defence as a full-back, a wing-back or a winger, the England Under-20 ace has had a hand in 21 goals for Plymouth and Leeds are considering a move to land him this month.

Daniel Farke reunion on cards after giving Bali Mumba his debut
After 10 senior appearances for Sunderland, Farke’s Norwich swooped to sign Mumba in 2020. He went on to make his Premier League and Carabao Cup debut under Farke, before going on loan to Plymouth.
Farke has been linked with a few players he has worked with in the past, with Leeds almost signing Max Aarons and of course, Sam Byram returning. Andrew Omobamidele has also been linked with Leeds.
Leeds do have options at full-back but it is an area that The Whites are supposedly looking to strengthen and now, Mumba is an option with three weeks left to go in the January transfer window.
