Joe Gelhardt is set to leave Leeds United but he might not be the only player set to depart Elland Road in the coming weeks, with another Championship club eyeing a raid.
Leeds have sanctioned the exit of striker Joe Gelhardt with the forward absent from Saturday’s home win over Harrogate Town in the FA Cup. Gelhardt is set to complete a loan move to Ruben Selles’ Hull City.
The decision to loan Gelhardt out for a second time in his Leeds career leaves Daniel Farke light up top. Joel Piroe was also absent on Saturday due to injury, while Bamford is missing with a hamstring injury.
The one-time England man is injured once again and it left Farke with just Mateo Joseph up top against Harrogate. Piroe will be back against Sheffield Wednesday, but Leeds could be another man light soon.

Daniel Farke’s nemesis John Eustace wants to raid Leeds United
Since Farke took the Leeds job in the summer of 2023, he has faced John Eustace on four occasions. Once with Birmingham City, three times with Blackburn and Farke remains winless in all four against Eustace.
A run of three straight 1-0 losses came to an end on New Year’s Day when Pascal Struijk scored a penalty in injury time, only for Danny Batth to equalise moments later from a corner and the game ended 1-1.
Now, Farke’s nemesis Eustace wants to raid Leeds and sign Bamford before the deadline. The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports on his Patreon channel that Eustace is keen to lure him to Ewood Park despite his wages.

Three clubs now want to sign Patrick Bamford in January window
Bamford is going to be unable to sign for any new clubs until he has recovered from his hamstring issue but that injury, according to Farke’s prognosis, will come to an end before the deadline on February 3.
Wrexham and Genoa have been linked with Bamford and Leeds are ready to sanction Bamford’s exit before the deadline. Whether that remains the case given Gelhardt is on his way does remain to be seen.
Leeds might want a replacement before Bamford is given the green light to leave. The striker is likely to want to leave given he has failed to start a single league game, even if Farke still thinks he is “crucial”.
