Leeds United are already seeing a number of their star players linked with the exit door in January as the winter window approaches, but now the club could green light the surprise sale of a “crucial” star.

It comes as no surprise to find the usual culprits earning interest from elsewhere. Max Wober’s future was a talking point in the summer, and Salzburg are said to be interested in bringing him back to Austria.

Salzburg’s sporting director Rouven Schroder says he will attempt a “clever loan” for Wober. Wolves have also been touted with left-footed ace Wober, while Joe Gelhardt is keen to leave Leeds in the next month.

He has interest from a number of Championship clubs and Scottish outfit, Rangers. Junior Firpo remains out of contract at the end of the season and Besiktas are supposedly taking a look at the injured star.

Now, Patrick Bamford could decide to leave Leeds in January

The Mail say Leeds are preparing for the potential sale of Bamford in January. Indeed, many would deem it understandable given he is yet to start a Championship game this season despite largely staying fit.

In the summer, Bamford was the subject of foreign interest. Carlton Palmer urged Leeds to sell Bamford in January, but that seemed to have been rejected by Daniel Farke, when Farke said Bamford is still “crucial”.

Now, The Mail say Leeds are preparing for the one-time England man’s potential January exit given his lack of game time and have two potential replacements lined-up for the Chelsea academy graduate.

Leeds have two-man shortlist ready to replace Patrick Bamford

The two names have already been linked with Leeds but now The Mail say that Leeds are targeting Dor Turgeman and Louie Barry in case Bamford does leave, in order to give Farke the fire power he requires.

Turgeman has been on fire in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Talks are said to have been held over a deal for Turgeman, who has scored more than half his career goals under the guidance of manager Robbie Keane.

Graeme Bailey told LeedsUnited.News that Leeds are interested in Barry, but parent club Aston Villa are yet to make a decision on his Stockport County loan. He has scored an impressive 15 goals in 21 games.

It would be the end of an era if Bamford was to leave, one of the only remaining Marcelo Bielsa-era stars that helped Leeds get promoted. But, it is quite easy to argue that his time at Elland Road is now up.
