Leeds United are not expected to be particularly busy in the January transfer window but there outgoings could provoke Leeds to take action and Wolves are being touted with a possible signing.

Daniel Farke has already said he expects January to be quiet for Leeds. But in the summer, Leeds did not bring in a replacement for Georginio Rutter and it has left Brenden Aaronson without competition.

There is also the possible issue on the left of the defence. Junior Firpo remains out of contract at the end of the season and The Dominican Republic star can be approached on a pre-contract come January 1.

But others are also attracting interest at Elland Road. Joe Gelhardt wants to leave in January, while Max Wober could also depart with his old side Salzburg keen. Wober of course, scored for Leeds on Saturday.

Wolves touted as possible landing spot for Leeds star Max Wober

Wober was the subject of intense interest in the summer. Gladbach, the club that had Wober on loan last season, wanted to sign the Austria star permanently. But Gladbach could not afford Wober’s £12.5m tag.

Galatasaray were interested in a late move for Wober, with the Turkish window open after the English market. But Wober remained at Leeds and on Saturday, he scored his first goal after coming on as a sub.

Indeed, Wober might actually get his first league start for Leeds since May 2023 on Tuesday night when The Whites host Middlesbrough. But Give Me Sport tout Wober as a possible January signing for Wolves.

Should he stay or should he go? Wober a possible Wolves target

Firpo’s injury at the weekend might be the break that Wober requires to get into this Leeds side. It may finally be his way in, could that be enough to convince Leeds, Daniel Farke and Wober to stay put?

The left-footed defender though, is still not first choice at Elland Road and if he is given the chance to start for a Premier League side then you would imagine it might be difficult for Wober to turn down.

However, Wolves sit in the relegation zone and are nine points adrift of safety – which could have been worse had Ipswich not got a draw against Brighton. Does Wober stay where he’s just got into the team?

A team that hold a strong chance of a full season in the Premier League next term, or Premier League football immediately with Wolves and a strong chance of relegation? A choice Wober may have to make.
