Reports emerged this week that Patrick Bamford could be a possible departure in the January transfer window and now, the identity of two clubs interested in his signature have been revealed.
The 31-year-old striker has failed to start a single Championship game under Daniel Farke at Leeds United this season. He has come off the bench just twice, for longer than 10 minutes at Blackburn and Preston.
Last season of course, Bamford came into the side at this stage of the season and played a key role during the second half of the 2024-25 season. But with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph fit, it looks unlikely.
It emerged this week that Leeds are eyeing a striker signing in January with Bamford a possible casualty. The report names Aston Villa’s in-form, out-on-loan Louie Barry and Israel ace Dor Turgeman as targets.

Now, two clubs names in pursuit of Leeds star Patrick Bamford
A report from TeamTalk on Wednesday afternoon claims that Serie A side Genoa and League One high-flyers Wrexham are both interested in raiding Leeds to sign one-time England star Bamford in January.
Wrexham have money thanks to Hollywood A-list celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. It would see him join an illustrious attacking force that also includes strikers Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher.
But, if Bamford fancies one last crack at the top tier, then mid-table Genoa are ready to bring him to Italy an away from English football for the first time in his career. Genoa currently sit in 13th place in Serie A.

Patrick Bamford could form unlikely Leeds partnership at Genoa
Interestingly, Genoa currently boast Leeds United flop Caleb Ekuban. A player that struggled during his time at Leeds, largely under Thomas Christiansen before the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa as Leeds manager.
Ekuban had left Leeds in the summer of 2018 to join Trabzonspor on loan, before Bamford arrived. A year later and Ekuban had signed for the Turkish side permanently, meaning the duo never played together.
But in a surprise scenario that sees Genoa interested in a deal for Bamford, it could see the duo form an unlikely Leeds strike-force that might have been at Elland Road, but will now take on Serie A defences.
