If Leeds United do enter the January transfer window, it is likely to be to sign a striker or add cover in the middle of the defence and one option might have just become available.
With Joe Gelhardt leaving for Hull and Patrick Bamford now of interest to Blackburn while also injured, Leeds could see their amount of options up top reduced by half and at centre-back, options are light.
Max Wober’s injuries are becoming regular while Pascal Struijk’s absence in a couple of recent matches have highlighted the need for another centre-back. Leeds are eyeing a potential reunion for Daniel Farke.
One option that has been linked with a move to Leeds in the past fortnight is Nottingham Forest player Andrew Omobamidele. The Ireland international is struggling for game time and now, he is keen to go.

£10m-rated Omobamidele has been linked with both Leeds and Sheffield United. The Blades are looking at a replacement for Harry Souttar, but Leeds boast an advantage due to a willingness to pay a figure.
On Saturday, Forest faced Luton in the FA Cup and secured a 2-0 win despite Nuno Espirito Santo making 11 changes. Despite all the changes, defender Omobamidele was not even included on the Forest bench.
Nuno said, as per the Irish Independent: “If I didn’t trust them I would not start them. We made a lot of changes but the depth of the squad is there. We still have to improve, but it is good to have all of them.
“Only Ibrahim Sangare is not with us. Other than that, we have all of them healthy. It is good because it is going to be very tough,“ Santo said. Clearly, Omobamidele was not considered for selection for a reason.
Win against Harrogate could put Leeds on pole for Omobamidele
With Sheffield United losing in The FA Cup and Leeds securing passage into the fourth round, it means Omobamidele would be available for one more game than he would be if he joined Sheffield United.
Of course, Omobamidele’s omission means he would not be cup-tied should he join Leeds in the next few weeks. But as Daniel Farke continues to reiterate, Leeds are expecting to have a quiet January window.
The Whites are yet to make any meaningful moves in terms of incoming signings this month and if Leeds do enter the market remains to be seen, but Omobamidele is emerging as more and more available.
