Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath has once again been tearing up the Championship, with 10 goals tying him with Leeds United’s top scorer this season; the ever-divisive Joel Piroe.
But there seems to be a big difference between Joel Piroe and Emmanuel Latte Lath. And that difference has been highlighted by Daniel Farke on a number of occasions with the Leeds boss often citing Piroe’s lack of pace.
Latte Lath meanwhile is a powerhouse in attack and him arriving at Elland Road would give Farke a new outlet up front, as his side continue to battle for promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds United News first revealed Leeds United’s interest in Latte Lath during this January transfer window. Since then, however, it’s been revealed that MLS side Atlanta United are ready to sign Latte Lath in a club record £16million deal.
Speaking recently, Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick discussed Latte Lath’s interest. He said: “For me to sit here and say I’m confident or I’m not confident [of keeping Latte Lath], it doesn’t really matter or affect it, because we’ve no idea what might come.”
Leeds United’s latest stance on Emmanuel Latte Lath move revealed
An emerging report from TeamTalk has all but shut down Latte Lath’s move to Leeds United, with Farke being the reason. They write that the German is content with his striking options despite Joe Gelhardt nearing a move to Hull City and Patrick Bamford being injured.
Farke is happy to go into the second half of the season with Piroe and Mateo Joseph as his striking options. That means Leeds are unlikely at this stage to launch a move’ for the 26-year-old Latte Lath, with Atlanta seemingly leading the race.
Should Latte Lath move to the MLS and join Atlanta United, he’ll be linking up with a former Leeds star in Mateusz Klich who made the move from D.C. United earlier in this winter window.

Another Leeds United exit tipped after Joe Gelhardt
Gelhardt is seemingly in the final stages of sealing a loan move to Yorkshire rivals Hull City for the rest of the campaign. But he’s not the only Leeds youngster set to be on the move in January.
It’s also reported that Charlie Crew will leave Leeds United on loan in the coming weeks. He’s thought to have interest from elsewhere in the EFL and with Ilia Gruev soon returning to action for Leeds, Crew will find game time even more difficult to come by.
Leeds look like they have a few irons in the fire for what’s remaining of the January transfer window. Though nothing seems imminent, and a move for Latte Lath now seems to have been completely ruled out.
