Leeds United are running out of time to make signings this January as other ventures have swayed the 49ers’ transfer targets.

It’s been a telling transfer window at Elland Road as the lack of incoming suggests Paraag Marathe went back on his transfer pledge.

Daniel Farke will be hoping for signings through the door in a bid to increase the Whites’ chances of promotion.

The likelihood of this happening at an extreme level is low, but there is still time for a few arrivals.

Now, insult to injury could happen with a recent report suggesting Leeds’ failure will be confirmed by February 3rd.

How many signings the 49ers want at Leeds United in the final days

The real reason had been revealed that Leeds want to save money for the summer, but there was clearly interest in signing players this January.

A prediction in October suggested Leeds wanted at least three signings this window and now as we know Farke’s side will be lucky to get one through the door.

MailOnline are the latest to reveal how many signings the 49ers actually want despite not securing their transfer targets

According to the report, the Whites still want five new additions this winter.

Journalist, Ian Herbert said they badly want a striker and Leeds’ 0-0 draw to Burnley reflects that.

He also added that the Whites are seeking a left-back, centre-back, central midfielder, and winger. Striker Is their main positional target but PSR may suggest they end up with nothing at all this window.

The only likely ‘signing’ this window would be Leeds’ recall of Jack Harrison, who’s had a dismal period on loan at Everton.

Matt Targett and Cameron Archer could end Leeds’ January transfer wait

With a full-back being mentioned previously, Farke may now have finally got his wish just four days before the window slams shut.

Leeds are set to sign Newcastle’s Matt Targett which could prove a pivotal option with the 29-year-old’s experience in the Premier League, however, there is ‘bafflement’ around Leeds’ pursuit of Targett which could make it unlikely.

Left-back is definitely somewhere Leeds could do with strengthening as although Sam Byram has done a solid shift for the Whites boss, his injury record doesn’t exactly scream reliability.

Another player that has emerged who could sign is Cameron Archer, who Leeds are confident of signing.

This would no doubt deal with Leeds’ striker issue, as Farke will be hoping to add to his limited options.

Five signings seems a tad overexaggerated with Leeds’ current position, but one through the door is looking like a real possibility.
