The 2025/26 season has begun for Leeds United, but there are still awards being won for the team’s exploits in the Championship in 2024/25.
Leeds United brought an incredible Championship season to a fitting end by clinching the Championship title ahead of Burnley in the most dramatic style possible on final day against Plymouth Argyle.
Now, both are aiming to survive. However, the latter lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend while Leeds won 1-0 in their opening game against Everton at Elland Road.
Three new signings featured but eight of the XI were players who featured in the second tier. The 100-point season was where Dan James won our Player of the Season award and also the club-voted award as well.
Ao Tanaka won the Players’ Player of the Season instead — both were honoured then and have been honoured again since. Not only that, but alongside four other Leeds stars of 2024/25.

PFA Team of the Season revealed with five Leeds United players
Our Leeds player ratings reflect Tanaka, James, and Jayden Bogle as the standouts over the course of the 2024/25 season as a whole in the Championship. That said, there were so many top performers.
Leeds icon Jermaine Beckford picked Tanaka as his Player of the Season and EFL expert and pundit David Prutton named James and Tanaka in the Championship TOTS.
The latter has since been revealed at the PFA awards. Tanaka and James were nominated for Players’ Player of the Year earlier in the summer. That was alongside four others, including James Trafford and Gus Hamer.
Trafford eventually won the award, with the Man City goalkeeper absolutely outstanding for Burnley last term. He was named alongside Tanaka and James in the Team of the Season.
The five players named from the West Yorkshire outfit are: James, Tanaka, Bogle, Junior Firpo, and Joel Piroe. They were joined by Trafford, Hamer, Borja Sainz, Josh Brownhill, Maxime Esteve, and CJ Egan-Riley.

Manor Solomon omitted from PFA Team of the Season
Tanaka and James are players Farke should build around but there are not many Leeds players ready for Premier League football like they are.
Daniel Farke’s Team of the Season view is that Manor Solomon ought to have been included in the official EFL team from the end of 2024/25. He scored or assisted eight times in the final six games of the season and in the run-in.
| Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists | G+A |
| 1. Joel Piroe | 46 | 19 | 7 | 26 |
| 2. Josh Brownhill | 42 | 18 | 6 | 24 |
| 3. Finn Azaz | 45 | 12 | 11 | 23 |
| 4. Borja Sainz | 41 | 18 | 4 | 22 |
| 5. Manor Solomon | 39 | 10 | 12 | 22 |
| 6. Dan James | 36 | 12 | 9 | 21 |
| 7. Jack Rudoni | 43 | 9 | 12 | 21 |
| 8. Josh Murphy | 42 | 7 | 14 | 21 |
| 9. Josh Sargent | 32 | 15 | 5 | 20 |
| 10. Josh Windass | 44 | 13 | 5 | 18 |
Given Sainz’s form at the back-end of the campaign, a fair argument could be made for Solomon. However, many Leeds players could have made the team, with Joe Rodon also unfortunate not to be included as well.
