Leeds United are finally in a new goalkeeper era with Lucas Perri signing for Daniel Farke’s side.
After Illan Meslier’s six-season stint as Leeds’ number one, Perri will now take the reins for the Yorkshire side.
Perri signed for Leeds in a £20m deal, with the Brazilian bringing a strong reputation to Elland Road from Lyon.
Farke will know a new goalkeeper had to join this summer, and the 49ers have certainly splashed the cash.
With Perri joining, it might bring a sense of relief to fans after Meslier’s failures, and what the new keeper has already said bodes well.

Lucas Perri makes Leeds United vow
Perri arrives with plenty of promise after his time in Ligue 1 as the 27-year-old oozes the confidence Farke needs from his keeper.
He’s shown off his personality in his opening interview with Leeds’ social media and has made something very clear about what he plans to do between the sticks for Leeds.
“The thing I want the most as a goalkeeper is to transmit a sense of trust and security,” Perri said.
“Players and fans look at me in goal and feel safety, feel calm.
“For me, this is really important, along with making saves and creating fast counterattacks.”
He looks to be a breath of fresh air, and his fast counterattacking play can be backed up by Perri’s 50m long throw, which could be a useful tool for Farke.
But his promise to make sure Leeds feel safe in goal is more than welcome after Meslier’s past mistakes.
There seemed to be a divide between the Frenchman and fans last season, as it seemed like Meslier would make a mistake at any given opportunity until Farke finally decided to drop him.
Meslier was ‘angry’ at his Leeds dropping, but it was the best way forward, and now a new chapter can begin with Perri.

Leeds will be thankful for Perri statistic after Meslier woes
It seemed inevitable that Meslier would be replaced this season, as the Frenchman reached his final straw.
Leeds’ 2-2 draw with Swansea City last season was his final appearance in a Leeds shirt, and it’s clear to see why.
After the game, Farke said Meslier would ‘suffer’, and ever since, that has been the case.
But now with Perri, the Brazilian has a knack for keeping out goals, which was Meslier’s main issue, and along with his confidence, he’s proven to be a reliable shot stopper due to the number of goals he prevented last season.

Perri has already backed up the new promise he’s made, as it’s obvious Leeds could not continue with Meslier.
Now is the time for the Brazilian to prove his worth at Elland Road as Meslier looks for his ‘obvious’ Leeds exit.
