Leeds United appear to be closing in on goalkeeper Lucas Perri as their seventh summer signing.

The No.1 position has been a topic of wary discussion at Leeds, which has been taken with extreme caution.

So much so that Leeds want their next keeper to be perfect, and Perri could be that keeper.

Perri is set for a medical as the Brazilian will be embarking on a new chapter in the Premier League away from Lyon, and will soon experience the pressure as Leeds’ man between the sticks.

The 27-year-old is looking to finally be Illan Meslier’s replacement, and Daniel Farke will know of the secret weapon he brings.

Leeds United’s potential next signing Lucas Perri has secret weapon

Leeds will be praying they have found the right shot-stopper for the job after continuous failures from Meslier.

It even got to the point where Meslier almost cost Leeds promotion last season, and the best thing is for the Frenchman to move on.

Although Meslier’s future away from Leeds is yet to be decided, the Whites have had no problem in finding their replacement.

Perri is set to cost £15.6m, in another brilliant move from the 49ers, but what’s more impressive is the secret weapon the Brazilian brings with him.

This being, Perri’s remarkable 50 metre throw he possesses, as he’s shown it on many an occasion for Lyon.

It seems like this throw from the Brazilian is worth £15.6m in itself, and Farke can use it to Leeds’ advantage.

Perri’s weapon could force a tactical rethink at Leeds

This is certainly a rare trait, and to bring it to the Premier League will be something new to compete against for the opposition.

Of course, Farke will want his side to stick to their ways of the Championship, and play out from the back, but this Perri trait can be used if the opportunity presents itself.

This could see a tactical rethink come into play, as Dan James and the potential of Igor Paixao on the wings to receive these throws from Perri could make for a counter-attacking cheat code.

Along with this throw, his long ball distribution is top as well, as the Brazilian can provide a threat with his passing from his own goal.

There’s a reason Perri has been called the ‘world’s best’ and Leeds can benefit from his qualities in more ways than one.

Perri isn’t only a brilliant distributor, but the Brazilian is also known to come up clutch with some phenomenal saves as well.

It’s looking clear that Farke is getting the full package with Perri, but to have this extraordinary 50m throw will come in handy next season.
