Adam Underwood has flown to Germany to remain in close communication with Daniel Farke and it is a decision that seems to have paid dividends with Leeds United set to make a seventh signing.

Since Leeds flew out to Germany, Underwood and Farke secured the £19.9m addition of lofty German midfielder Anton Stach. A four-year deal signed by Stach, who arrives for an initial figure of £17.3m.

The signing of Stach alongside Sean Longstaff sorts out the midfield, while work on the defence has been completed thanks to the arrivals of Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and injured Sebastiaan Bornauw.

Focus has switched to signing a striker, awinger, and a goalkeeper. Graham Smyth said earlier this week that Leeds wanted to sign Brazilian trio Igor Paixao, Rodrigo Muniz and Lucas Perri. Now, one is finished.

Leeds have ‘total agreement’ with Euro club for seventh signing

It looks as if Leeds have struck a deal to sign one of those three, with Underwood seemingly in talks to nab all of them. French journalist Fabrice Hawkins has confirmed Leeds are about to sign Lyon’s Perri.

There were doubts over a deal for Brazilian shot-stopper Perri when Lyon’s appeal against relegation was successful. It meant Perri would still be a Ligue 1 player with Lyon, competing in the Europa League.

But finances at Lyon are still concerning and John Textor seems to have agreed to sell Perri. Hawkins says Leeds and Lyon have a ‘total agreement’ for Perri and he will now leave Lyon’s training camp to sign on.

He reports on X: “EXCL Total agreement between Lyon and Leeds for Lucas Perri. The goalkeeper is leaving the tour in Germany and flying to England. After medical, Perri will signs his contract with Leeds.”

How much Leeds are paying to sign goalkeeper Lucas Perri…

Hawkins’ update has been confirmed further by Fabrizio Romano, giving it the rubber stamp when it comes to the world of reliable sources. Perri is expected to sign a long-term contract at Elland Road.

In terms of a transfer fee, Perri was first touted with Leeds at around £13m. But that was when Lyon were facing the threat of relegation after the DNGC’s ruling. It might well be more than that figure, now.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have since floated a £20m figure for the goalkeeper, which would make more sense and certainly fits the kind of figure Leeds have been paying so far, under Underwood.
