So far this summer, five players have left Daniel Farke’s promotion-winning Leeds United squad from last season, whether that be their loan has ended or their contract has expired.
Josuha Guilavogui and Junior Firpo have left after their deals expired on June 30. Firpo has since moved to Real Betis, while Guilavogui remains a free agent. He was only ever going to stay until 2024-25 ended.
Manor Solomon has chosen to remain at Tottenham and while there is a chance he becomes available later in the window, he is back at Spurs for now. Joe Rothwell has joined Rangers on a permanent deal.
Rothwell starred for Rangers on debut against Pananthinaikos on Tuesday. Then, Max Wober completed a loan move to Werder Bremen. Now, it is ‘only a matter of time’ before an attacker leaves Elland Road.

What Real Betis want, and what Leeds want for Mateo Joseph
The case of Mateo Joseph. The Spain U21 striker is currently in the United Kingdom, after Daniel Farke confirmed Joseph wants to go. Joseph has also rejected Farke’s demands he joins the squad in Germany.
Joseph is doing everything within his power to leave, with Farke also confirming he wants to return to Spain. It is believed that he wants to reunite with Firpo, Marc Roca and Diego Llorente at Real Betis.
Spanish site El Desmarque report the situation. They say Leeds will allow Joseph to go on a straight loan, or accept permanent offers for the former Espanyol striker between £8.5m and £13m this summer.
Betis do not want to sign him on a straight loan, and they don’t want to pay the figure Leeds are asking for. They want Joseph on a loan-to-buy deal, and believe it is ‘only a matter of time’ in getting Joseph.

Adam Underwood has shown his stubbornness this summer
What has been clear in Leeds’ deals is that Adam Underwood will only rubber stamp a deal if it suits Leeds, and if it matches what they feel is value for money. Sean Longstaff was signed after a fourth bid.
Talks dragged on for Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach, with Leeds trying to shave off cash where they could. When it comes to Joseph, Leeds won’t compromise. They won’t reduce price tags, or accept loans.
Even if a player is pushing for a move. Farke says Joseph will train with the 21’s when the Leeds squad returns to England next week, and it might be some time before Betis finally accept Leeds’ terms.
