Leeds United have gone toe-to-toe with Regis Le Bris and Sunderland this transfer window.
With both Leeds and Sunderland about to endure their return to the Premier League, the transfer window has presented promise for the season ahead.
Leeds have spent over £80m as they hope to compete in the top flight this season, but the Mackems have trumped their window so far.
This is after not only spending over £100m already, but also because Sunderland have pinched Habib Diarra, who was a player on Leeds’ radar.
Along with this, Leeds target Noah Sadiki joined Sunderland, but after the start of pre-season, Daniel Farke might be the one laughing.

Regis Le Bris’ plea at Sunderland after transfer battles with Leeds United
After missing out on players who were seen as priority midfield targets, the 49ers have still managed to make seven new additions to the squad.
This has seen their midfield still strengthen considerably as Leeds have added Anton Stach to their ranks, with Stach impressing on his Leeds debut, grabbing an assist.
Farke’s side are showing their progress ahead of the new campaign, but the same can’t quite be said about Sunderland.
Despite spending far more than the Whites so far this summer, it’s still quite clear that improvements are needed after Le Bris’ side suffered their second defeat of pre-season against Hearts.
A 3-0 loss with the likes of Sadiki involved has got Le Bris questioning his side’s ‘experience’, which will be a key factor in staying up in the Premier League.
Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie revealed that the Frenchman was disappointed with his side’s performance and seemed frustrated about the lack of experienced players in his squad.

Leeds get one over Sunderland after Le Bris comments
The likelihood of both Leeds and Sunderland being involved at the bottom of the Premier League is high.
Despite the vast spending of both clubs, the gap continues to get bigger between the Championship and the top flight, proving that recruitment is key.
Promising signs have come out of the Whites’ pre-season so far, as Farke’s 4-3-3 experiment has worked after switching from a 4-2-3-1 against Man United.
The reason this has worked well is by having players with experience to adapt to different situations, as Sunderland lack this aspect in their squad.
Taking into account the youngest squads in the Championship last season, it comes as no surprise that Le Bris is mentioning this problem.
| The youngest squads in the Championship (24/25) | |
| 1. | Sunderland – average age: 23.2 |
| 2. | Stoke City – average age: 24.0 |
| 3. | Sheffield United – average age: 24.5 |
| …12. | Leeds – average age: 25.4 |
But the fact of the matter is that Sunderland haven’t exactly improved this experience by signing 21-year-old Diarra and Sadiki, who is 20.
Whereas Leeds are only getting stronger in this department after Stach and Sean Longstaff joined, with Longstaff providing ‘incredible energy’ to Leeds’ midfield and adding his own experience after seven seasons in the Premier League.
Although missing out on Diarra and Sadiki was tough for Leeds, it turns out that everything seems to be working out just fine.
