Chris Sutton makes bold claim on Jurgen Klopp managing Leeds United

Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United is safe for now, but in the Premier League things can change quickly.

The 49ers decided not to make a change this summer as Paraag Marathe loves Farke’s belief at Leeds.

But this can only take the club a long way, as the top flight is a different ball game.

Some Leeds fans believe they need a manager who has succeeded previously in the big time, as Jose Mourinho has been mooted.

However, Mourinho turned down Leeds, and Chris Sutton has instead suggested Jurgen Klopp and another well-known manager in a claim about Farke.

With different managers around Europe suggested, it did come to the surface that Leeds wanted an Andoni Iraola-type appointment.

Of course, the Whites themselves did go for the Bournemouth manager when he was at Rayo Vallecano, but Vallecano blocked Leeds from hiring Iraola.

This lead to Farke joining, in what has so far worked well, but Sutton has debated what would happen if he did leave.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Sutton made a claim involving Klopp and Pep Guardiola, and actually defended Farke’s position.

“If Klopp took over at Leeds or Guardiola, would they be guaranteed to stay up?,” Sutton said.

“Would they do a better job than Farke? He knows these players inside out.

“I don’t quite get that notion of a Premier League specialist manager.”

Klopp joining Leeds isn’t an outrageous debate

Now to make it clear, Klopp making the move to Elland Road is very unlikely.

With the 49ers wanting Leeds to become consistent in the Premier League, Farke has a lot to prove, but further down the line, the German can easily be replaced.

Farke may only see the exit door if the Whites get off to a bad start, and judging by his record in the top flight, there is a high possibility this could happen.

This could spark interest in Klopp who may return to management one day, but of course Leeds would have to be in a much better position.

The only chance this could have legs is if Leeds become one of the best in Europe, in a wish from Marathe, as Klopp who has his links with RedBull, may consider this prospect.
