Having left Leeds United on loan in the summer transfer window, Largie Ramazani has endured a frustrating start to life at Valencia.

Largie Ramazani was arguably the most controversial departure from Leeds this summer, having been deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Daniel Farke.

The former Manchester United man was allowed to leave on a season-long loan to Valencia. However, that decision was called into question when Leeds failed with a late move to sign Harry Wilson.

An injury to Ramazani hampered his progress at Valencia, with former Leeds assistant Corberan coming under pressure after a difficult start to the season.

Now, Corberan has explained how close the on-loan Leeds man is to returning to full fitness, having spent several weeks on the sidelines.

Which position do Leeds United need to strengthen most in January?

Explain why!

On-loan Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani nearing return from injury

Speaking to Spanish publication Diario AS, Corberan laid out when he expected Ramazani to return to action with Valencia.

Ramazani was initially expected to return after the international break, but the winger is still at least one week away from returning to action for the La Liga strugglers.

Corberan said: “Of the four injuries we had, two were of one type and two of another. The former weren’t muscle injuries but tendon or cartilage injuries, and Foulquier and Ugrinic have returned.

“Now we have to see the training and match load. The muscle injuries, those of Diakhaby and Ramazani, were long-term. The expected return date for both is similar.

“They are still between ten days and two weeks from coming back, because when they return to full training will determine their return date. The recovery is going well, but the exact date is still unknown.”

Largie Ramazani needs to prove himself at Valencia

With the club struggling in attack, Leeds fans have called for Ramazani to return to the club to help give Farke another option in the wide areas.

However, although he enjoyed a strong start to life at Valencia, a loss of form and his subsequent injury means that he has not found his stride in Spain.

Should Leeds follow Nottingham Forest’s path and risk a points deduction? 💸

“This summer, we spent everything we could. Unequivocally, we are maxing PSR out this season. If we had gone on to other targets [on deadline day], the consequences would have been seen in the current roster. More key players from last season would have had to go.”

According to FotMob, Ramazani has managed just 85 minutes for Valencia so far this season, featuring mainly from the bench across his five games before his injury.

With Ramazani only playing 782 minutes across the entire Championship season last year, the jury is still out over whether he is the right man to return to Elland Road as Leeds’ salvation in January.
