San Francisco 49ers Enterprises proved in their first window as majority shareholders at Leeds United that they are not afraid to turn down big money.

Despite the best efforts of Willy Gnonto and his agent to force an exit from Elland Road, 49ers held firm in their stance that he was not for sale, rejecting an offer as high as £25 million from Everton.

Gnonto is now very much back in the fold at Leeds and even putting some consideration towards changing his agent, but it is his close friend Crysencio Summerville who is likely to attract the most interest this month.

European hopefuls Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but 49ers are again determined to keep hold of Leeds’ star man.

And according to Team Talk, Leeds have slapped an asking price of £30 million on the Dutch youngster, a fee which is reportedly only likely to increase if he continues performing at his current level.

Summerville valued at £30m by Leeds

Summerville has arguably been the Championship’s stand-out player so far this season, having scored an impressive 12 goals, while also providing six assists.

Only Adam Armstrong and Sammie Szmodics have more goal contributions than Summerville across the entire Championship, both of whom primarily play as a striker.

Summerville was described as ‘exceptional’ by former Leeds midfielder Bradley Johnson earlier in the season and his wish of becoming the main man at Elland Road, has certainly come true.

Despite interest from elsewhere, Summerville is said to be in no rush to secure a move from Leeds, having initially been expected to do so in the summer.

Summerville has repeatedly made it clear that his goal is to return to the Premier League with Leeds and hopefully he can be the player to spearhead Daniel Farke’s side back there.
