Everton are unwilling to meet Leeds United’s £30 million valuation of Wilfried Gnonto.
That is according to BBC Sport journalist Shamoon Hafez, who claims Everton made another offer worth £25.7 million for Gnonto last night, which was rejected by Leeds.
It is said that Everton are not willing to go any higher than their most recent bid, which would indicate their pursuit is now all but over with a £4.3 million gap in valuation.
Leeds have now reportedly turned down three offers for Gnonto from Everton this summer as they reaffirm their stance he is not for sale.
Gnonto has now been reintegrated back into the fold at Leeds and his retention will be a welcome boost for Daniel Farke for the rest of the season.
Everton fall short of Leeds’ Gnonto valuation
Sky Sports reported this morning that Everton had re-entered talks with Leeds over a potential move with Alex Iwobi having left for Fulham.
However, it appears as though those talks were short lived as Leeds remain firm in their stance he is not for sale.
Leeds have been in a good position to keep Gnonto throughout the summer as he still has four years left to run on his deal, with no relegation release clause.
Gnonto has attempted to force his way out of the club over the course of the last few weeks, but that has not stopped Leeds from holding firm.
Of course, there are still plenty of hours left and anything could happen, but Leeds are in a strong position now.
