Premier League star desperate to leave current club in 2025 and Leeds United could get him on the cheap

One Leeds United target in particular is absolutely desperate to join a new club in 2025. Not only that, but he could be a bargain for the 49ers.

Just the 19 players have been linked with Leeds United ahead of the January transfer window, as the Whites look set to do business in the winter window which is now officially open for business.

The 49ers and Daniel Farke will be hard at work in the transfer market as Leeds look to maintain their spot at the top of the Championship table.

Last time out, Leeds beat Derby County 1-0 to open up a two point lead over Sheffield United in 2nd. On New Year’s Day, the Blades play 4th place Sunderland in the late kick off whilst Leeds host 5th place Blackburn Rovers.

It could be another day of movement inside the top six, then. And whilst Farke’s focus will be solely on the Rovers game right now, he’d be remiss to not be thinking about what his side can do in the transfer market; not only this month, but maybe even next summer.

Leeds United handed another Caoimhin Kelleher boost as Liverpool stance reaffirmed

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been linked with Leeds United in the build up to January.

The Irishman has been mentioned alongside the likes of Leeds United, Chelsea and Celtic of late, with the 26-year-old struggling for regular game time at Liverpool.

It was recently reported that Liverpool are open to selling Kelleher next summer, with a new goalkeeper in Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving to provide fresh competition for Alisson.

A fresh report from The Athletic confirms that Kelleher is desperate to leave Liverpool next summer and become a regular no.1, also suggesting that he could be available for much less than Liverpool valued him at before.

Last summer, Liverpool wanted at least £25million for Kelleher. Next summer however, he’ll be in the final year of his contract, and The Athletic say Kelleher will ‘most likely to be sold’ given his contract situation.

The latest on Illan Meslier and Noel Tornqvist as Leeds United ponder goalkeeper switch up

It looks like we could see some changes in the Leeds goalkeeper department in 2025 with current no.1 Illan Meslier a man in demand.

Recently, it was revealed that Fiorentina have joined the race for Meslier who’s had recent links to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Rennes as well.

Amid the emerging Meslier news, Leeds United have been linked with Noel Tornqvist: the Swedish goalkeeper playing for Allsvenskan side Mjällby AIF, who was previously mentioned alongside Leeds.

Kelleher arriving in 2025 would no doubt be in the event of Meslier leaving. Farke’s goalkeeping options next season could yet be Kelleher and Tornqvist as no.2.
