Daniel Farke has been tipped to call upon some familiar faces to aid his Leeds United promotion push. With two weeks left of the transfer window, we could yet see a player reunion at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke made his name at Norwich City. Between 2017 and 2021, the German won the Championship title twice with the Canaries as Farke quickly became one of the most successful managers the Championship has seen.
Many Leeds United fans still harbour mixed views about Farke, however. He has persistent critics at Elland Road despite Leeds United beating Norwich City 2-0 in midweek to maintain their spot at the top of the Championship table.
Though with the players at his disposal and the resources available in the transfer market, many think Farke should be doing better. And many are concerned about the lack of new signings in this January transfer window so far.
There’s a number of players linked with Leeds United, though nobody is yet to make the move to West Yorkshire during this January transfer window.

Bali Mumba reunion at Leeds United may be unlikely for Daniel Farke
Leeds have been linked with two of Farke’s former Norwich City players recently: Emi Buendia and Bali Mumba. A deal for Buendia has some work to do, but Mumba may be a more realistic option.
Now at Plymouth Argyle, the 23-year-old has become one of the best left wing-backs in the Championship. Leeds are interested in signing Mumba, who joined Plymouth Argyle in a £1million deal from Norwich City in 2023, but so too are Middlesbrough.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey reports that Michael Carrick’s side are keen on Mumba, having just had a £6million bid accepted for his Plymouth teammate Morgan Whittaker.

Bali Mumba loves Elland Road atmosphere
Mumba may have a pick of a few clubs going into the final week or so of the January transfer window. A Leeds move may be unlikely given Leeds’ pressing need for a centre-back and a striker, but there’s interest nonetheless.
Speaking previously, Mumba spoke about Elland Road and his love for Leeds United’s home ground. He said: “It’s always good to play there. We’ve played there a few times now. The atmosphere there is always good, the fans are always up for it. It’s always an exciting place to go.”
Mumba may well jump at the chance to join Leeds United. And Farke could be in need of a left-sided defender in the summer with the likes of Junior Firpo out of contract.
A summer move for Mumba could be more likely, especially if Leeds aren’t promoted. That’s if Middlesbrough don’t swoop in first.
