Luis Sinisterra’s exit is about to spark more transfer developments at Leeds United – Phil Hay

Leeds United officially confirmed the permanent sale of Luis Sinisterra to Bournemouth yesterday.

Sinisterra had been on loan at the Cherries since deadline day in the summer and after a slow start at his new club, has very much found his feet in recent weeks under Andoni Iraola.

Amid reported interest from AC Milan, Bournemouth wanted to pounce and complete a permanent move for Sinisterra quickly, and it was made official between the two clubs on Friday afternoon.

Sinisterra was one of several members of last season’s first team squad to leave on loan in the summer, but is now the second to seal a permanent move after Robin Koch, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Square Ball Podcast, Phil Hay says Sinisterra’s transfer is set to kick start a string of permanent exits from Leeds of those who are out on loan.

Hay says Sinisterra to kick start permanent exits

He said: “Leeds saw no way of him [Sinisterra] coming back and this will begin a traipse of players who were here in the relegation season leaving permanently, or going elsewhere for the long-term. There was no way back, similar to Tyler Adams.”

Sinisterra is actually the first of that loan contingent to bring in a fee for Leeds as Koch was out of contract anyway in the summer, and so his permanent exit was just down to him agreeing a deal at Frankfurt.

Bournemouth were very keen to complete this move for Sinisterra but it may not be so easy shifting some of the others who are out on loan.

The likes of Max Wober, Diego Llorente and Marc Roca are wanted by their current clubs, but at the same time, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen are players who have not enjoyed the best of seasons.

Whatever happens, it does not appear like there is a way back for any of them and so starting to shift them permanently now is good business from Leeds.
