AC Milan could be on the hunt for a replacement for Rafael Leao in the summer and Leeds United could be where they look to find it.
Leao only signed a new deal at the San Siro in the summer has a release clause of around £150 million that only becomes active for a short period of time in July.
After a quiet January transfer window, this summer could see the movement of a couple of superstars. As per Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are confident of finally signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG, which would leave them in the market for a replacement.
According to Foot Mercato, Milan’s Leao is who PSG would like to bring in as his successor, which would leave them with plenty of money to spend. But it is Leeds who Milan believe have Leao’s ideal replacement.
Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti has claimed in a recent YouTube video that Milan want to sign Luis Sinisterra and could spend in excess of £21 million in order to do so.
Milan like Sinisterra as Leao replacement
He said: “In the hypothesis that Leao leaves, who can be the substitute? I assure you that the substitute is there, he plays in the Premier League, which I have been talking about for years.
“He is just the right player, he is one of the very rare players who in terms of fun, technical and entertainment, could perhaps replace Leao, let’s talk about Luis Sinisterra.
“Already at Feyenoord amazing, then bought by Leeds for 25 million. The English club was relegated and lent it to Bournemouth. He has a contract expiring in 2026. The cost? It’s from ’99, I think it’s worth at least 25/30 million euros.
“He plays on the left, but with Colombia he plays mostly on the right. He is a player from San Siro, I assure you. He would be the ideal figure, but it’s all future, today we enjoy Leao who must help us beat Napoli.”

Sinisterra, of course, is currently on loan at Bournemouth from Elland Road and there have been strong reports they will look to make the deal permanent in the coming days.
It will be interesting to see if Sinisterra holds off from committing long-term at Bournemouth amid interest from AC Milan, who have been linked with signing him before.
