Leeds United’s pursuit of £7m player is ‘far from over’ despite seeing two bids rejected

While much of the focus at Leeds United seems to be on outgoings right now, work is also ongoing to bring players in.

This time last year, Leeds were still waiting to complete their first signing of the summer, but this time around, they have already completed three.

However, due to the level of quality that appear to be on their way out of Elland Road, supporters are arguably as restless now as they were 12 months ago.

Glen Kamara has undergone a medical at Rennes and could have a move wrapped up today, while talks are ongoing with Everton and Real Betis over Wilfried Gnonto and Junior Firpo respectively.

Having also lost Archie Gray, that would be four regular starters to have left this summer, leaving Leeds with an awful lot of work to do to bring in replacements.

What Leeds plan to do next with Jayden Bogle interest

At the moment, it would appear that Leeds have prioritised the addition of a new right-back due to the departures of Gray, Connor Roberts and Jamie Shackleton.

While former loanee Roberts is of interest, Leeds are actually focusing on a different player from one of the relegated clubs.

That man is Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle, with Leeds having already had two offers rejected after news of their interest first broke on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds are still said to be some way apart from Sheffield United’s valuation, which has reportedly been set at around the £7 million mark.

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds’ pursuit of Bogle is ‘far from over’, indicating they are indeed going to make another bid to get it over the line.

Hopefully this is one they can get done in time before they fly out to Germany for their pre-season tour, where they are expected to play two behind-closed-doors friendlies.

What is Bogle’s stance on a move this summer?

Bogle has just 12 months remaining on his current contract at Bramall Lane and so Sheffield United certainly have a decision to make on his future.

However, it has been reported that Bogle is currently happy at the Blades despite interest from Leeds in recent days.

Of course, that is not to say he would not make the switch if a fee was agreed between the two clubs, and Leeds must’ve received some encouragement to have made two bids.

This feels like one that can get done as long as Leeds decide to pay the asking price of their Yorkshire rivals.
