Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including Facundo Buonanotte, Charlie Cresswell, and Matthis Abline updates.

The transfer window has just nine days remaining for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are running out of time as they look for players in the market and as more transfer news emerges to add to their nine summer signings.

A busy end to the summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad getting closer to completion but also needing to be trimmed via exits as well.

In the meantime, with vital days ahead for the recruitment team and with Farke’s team headed to The Emirates to face Arsenal, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club.

Facundo Buonanotte latest with Leeds circling

Daniel Farke wants a hybrid playmaker who can play as a No.10 or winger and we have also suggested Facundo Buonanotte of Brighton as an option for Leeds before.

Leeds had Buonanotte interest over a year ago. Now, in recent weeks, Buonanotte has emerged as a more serious target again. It’s been clear all summer that Buonanotte is not in Brighton’s plans after his return from Leicester City.

It’s also been reported that Borussia Dortmund have been knocked back for Buonanotte by Brighton. Amid that, the latest is that Leeds’ interest in Buonanotte is ramping up ahead of the transfer deadline.

Leeds windfall from Charlie Cresswell deal

Charlie Cresswell was sold for just £4 million to Toulouse after departing the club permanently, with some Leeds fans believing Cresswell’s sale was a mistake at the time and since then, too.

In spite of that, we recently saw Cresswell thank Leeds for their development of him, even if he has since been developed far more rapidly in Ligue 1. Now, Toulouse want as much as £18 million for Cresswell with a 15% sell-on to Leeds.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed he can leave Toulouse in recent months of the window. It’s now reported by David Ornstein that Borussia Dortmund are bidding for Cresswell and plan to again after an initial rejected bid.

Leeds handed Matthis Abline boost if their interest firms up

A latest name to be linked with a move to Elland Road is Nantes forward Matthis Abline. The versatile winger or striker looks set to leave Ligue 1 this summer.

Abline’s manager has explained the situation and his side is prepared for any player departures, including for their star man. Earlier this summer, Graeme Bailey informed Leeds United News that Leeds had held talks to sign Abline, alongside Sunderland.

However, there is other interest and Stade Rennais were named as a potential destination lately. Leeds have since been handed an Abline boost as Rennes are not necessarily in the race now.
