Nico Gonzalez hands in transfer request amid Leeds and Atleti interest
One forward option that has emerged via recent reports is that of Leeds’ interest in Nico Gonzalez of Juventus. The winger has fallen out of favour in Turin despite just one season with the club and Juventus want £26 million to sell Gonzalez this summer.
Not only do Leeds have interest, but it has also been reported that Gonzalez wants to leave Juventus this summer. If they secure him quickly, Gonzalez could add more goals to Leeds’ side. Now, Atletico Madrid are in the race for Gonzalez, too.
However, others state that Gonzalez could yet stay at Juventus, much to their frustration; but a move for Gonzalez or Noah Okafor could yet happen for Leeds. The latest is that Gonzalez has now handed in a transfer request.
Crystal Palace increase efforts to sign Leeds target Bilal El Khannouss
It was said Leeds held a meeting with El Khannouss’ camp a couple of weeks ago and also that El Khannouss’ wage demands are not an issue for Leeds.
Newcastle United have dropped out of the El Khannouss race. However, at the same time as that, West Ham United have registered El Khannouss interest. The other club with the strongest interest is regarding Crystal Palace’s pursuit of El Khannouss.
Not only has David Ornstein confirmed Palace’s El Khannouss attempts have ramped up, but Santi Aouna confirms they have also agreed personal terms with the playmaker.
Leeds target James Justin picks up injury for Leicester City against Preston
James Justin could become Leeds United’s ninth signing of the summer. Leeds United News revealed exclusively that the Leicester City full-back is on Leeds’ radar. He will add to Jayden Bogle, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Sam Byram.
Since then, Justin and Leeds are closing in on an agreement but Justin’s mentality is to become a Leeds starter, be that in place of Bogle or Gudmundsson at left-back or right-back.
A concrete fee regarding a deal for Justin is yet to materialise, but Everton also wanted Justin for £6 million earlier in the window. However, Justin was struck by injury for Leicester against Preston North End — and it could throw a spanner in the works of the deal.
