Leeds United are tracking Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez ahead of the transfer deadline on September 1st.
Leeds United are looking to strike a few more deals before the summer transfer window ends: so far, seven new players have signed for Leeds this summer.
But, after the previous flurry of arrivals, Daniel Farke hasn’t welcomed any more new players to his side. And with the Premier League season kicking off this weekend, with Leeds United playing Everton on Monday, there is a lingering sense of panic as Leeds’ attack looks particularly thin on the ground.
Earlier in the month, it was reported that Leeds United still want to sign three new attackers. Farke wants a new striker, a new winger, and a new number 10, and one player who could arrive on the wing is Nico Gonzalez.

Update on Nico Gonzalez at Juventus amid Leeds United transfer interest
Recent reports revealed how Leeds United have added Gonzalez to their summer shortlist. The winger has fallen out of favour in Turin despite just one season with the club. Juventus want £26m to sell Gonzalez this summer as Juventus are aiming to build up funds to sign Jadon Sancho with the potential sale of Gonzalez and several other first-team players.
But an emerging report from Tribal Football has revealed how Juventus are struggling to offload some of their for-sale players right now. The main ones being Dusan Vlahovic, previous Leeds United transfer target Douglas Luiz, and Gonzalez. Tribal Football write that Juventus are growing frustrated with potential player sales ‘failing to materialise and incoming targets slipping from further reach’.
On Gonzalez, their report writes that sources now believe Gonzalez ‘may end up remaining in Turin’ despite his exit being seen as essential to opening up a potential move for Sancho at Manchester United.

Leeds United now have chance to sign another winger instead
Gonzalez is among a few who failed to impress at Juventus last season. The 27-year-old Argentine international scored three and assisted twice in 26 Serie A games, but was previously prolific for Fiorentina, scoring 12 in 29 league games in the 2023/24 season that prompted Juve to snap him up.
But it looks as though Farke may quickly turn his attentions to another winger in Manor Solomon. Solomon shone for Leeds last season, with Farke naming Solomon as Leeds United’s standout player in the second half of the campaign.
The Israeli international scored 10 and assisted 12 more for Leeds on their way to promotion, and a recent update from Fabrizio Romano revealed that Solomon could now leave Spurs before the summer transfer window closes.
Romano, however, adds that there are multiple Premier League and La Liga clubs looking to sign the Israeli international, although movement has started with regards to a potential Solomon sale in North London.
Bringing Solomon back to Elland Road would be a huge coup for Farke and it wouldn’t break the bank either, with Spurs looking for £20 million to sell Solomon this summer. Gonzalez may cost a whole lot more and is surely earning a lot more in wages than Solomon.
