It has now been 15 days since Leeds United managed to bring in a new signing and fans are growing concerned ahead of next Monday’s Premier League opener against Everton.
Rewind to the 26th of July and Leeds had just announced the addition of Lucas Perri, a few days after completing a deal for Anton Stach. Leeds had seven new signings, and were closing in on Igor Paixao.
But after missing out on Paixao and failing to add to their seven recruits following the 26th of July, fans are worried. Leeds are hoping to make four new signings, including a new winger and a starting striker.
Leeds continue to be linked with player after player, and Graham Smyth even confirmed Leeds have spoken with Bilal El Khannouss’ camp at Leicester. But another new name has emerged as a target.

Nico Gonzalez asks to leave Juventus after Leeds United links
Immediately after Leeds’ draw with Milan, Graham Smyth reported that Leeds were considering a £43m move to sign the Argentine. Normally a right-sided it is believed Gonzalez can play anywhere in attack.
Even, up front. An Argentina international, Gonzalez only joined Juventus in the summer of 2024 on an initial loan, which was obligated to turn permanent this summer. Juventus have spent a total of £43m.
According to Sport Mediaset writer Gianni Balzarini, Gonzalez has now asked to leave Juventus this summer, and his move would see the Italian giants make a move for Man United flop Jadon Sancho.

“You ask me about Sancho, Sancho is always there, guys. Sancho is always there. Now, I don’t know if that’s true, but it’s part of personal evaluations,” Balzarini said, on his YouTube channel this weekend.
“What’s true is clearly linked to the possible departure of Gonzalez, who now seems to have asked to be sold, so be careful, it seems he asked to be sold precisely because he wants to play in the World Cup.”
Nico Gonzalez is the difference between survival and relegation
Following the disappointment of missing out on Paixao, any player that has subsequently linked with Leeds has failed to match the excitement that Paixao’s Feyenoord form produced among Leeds fans.
But when it comes to Gonzalez, that is different. This is another game changer, one that has a real chance to be a part of Argentina’s World Cup squad next summer. A player that is regularly starting for Juve.
If Leeds can sign Gonzalez, it would be a real statement of intent. A game-changing signing, and the possible difference between relegation and survival. But for that reason, a move feels very ambitious.
