It has now been 11 days since Leeds United last completed a transfer. Lucas Perri’s move was done while the squad were in Germany and having returned early last week, no new signings to report.
Perri was announced as Leeds’ seventh signing. Adam Underwood sorted out a priority area of the squad to the tune of £15.6m including add-ons. But Leeds are yet to build on that, largely due to Igor Paixao.
Paixao has since explained why he chose Marseille over Leeds, even though Leeds had a £30m-plus bid accepted by Feyenoord during the Paderborn game. Since then, nothing concrete has really materialised.
Leeds have been linked with Roma’s Artem Dovbyk and Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss, but there does not seem to be anything close to completion at this stage with 12 days left before Everton visit.

Graham Smyth shares Bilal El Khannouss’ stance on Leeds move
Last week, it was widely reported that Leeds held a meeting with El Khannouss’ camp. They informed the Leicester star’s camp that they would pay his release clause, but there have been no reports of a bid.
Tottenham are considering El Khannouss to replace Son Heung-min, while Arsenal are keeping tabs. Ben Jacobs says Leeds are the only Premier League side to make a ‘formal enquiry’ for the £22m man.
Now, Graham Smyth reports in his YEP newsletter what Leeds and El Khannouss’ camp have told him. He says that Leeds told him they have enquired, while El Khannouss’ agents confirm a meeting was held.
They also share El Khannouss’ stance on a move to Elland Road. Smyth claims the Leicester star is ‘very interested’ in a move to Leeds this summer, despite the size of the clubs that have been linked so far.

El Khannouss’ Premier League numbers vs Leeds wingers
Of Leeds’ four wingers, only three have played in the Premier League. Jack Harrison is a household name in the Premier League, but fans of both Leeds and Everton will question his quality in the top tier.
His numbers are not impressive, either. Meanwhile, Willy Gnonto burst onto the scene in his one season in the Premier League, while Dan James has turned out for Leeds, Manchester United and Fulham on loan.
| Name | Clubs | Games | Minutes | Goals | Assists | Minutes per G+A |
| Jack Harrison | Leeds Everton | 170 | 12531 | 25 | 20 | 278.5 |
| Dan James | Leeds Man United Fulham | 106 | 6509 | 12 | 13 | 260.4 |
| Willy Gnonto | Leeds | 24 | 1351 | 2 | 4 | 225.2 |
| Bilal El Khannouss | Leicester | 32 | 2197 | 2 | 3 | 439.4 |
El Khannouss was a bright spark in a dismal Leicester side last season. He had a hand in five Premier League goals but in a better side, those numbers should go up. Perhaps, Leeds can be that team.
