The 49ers have got to make a serious impression on the Leeds United fans with signings if Premier League promotion is achieved.

It’s not fully clear which direction the owners are taking this transfer window, but fans will be expecting promising talent.

The Leeds squad is far from satisfying for Daniel Farke, as although the job might get done in the Championship, there is still plenty of work for the Premier League.

Andrew Omobamidele could join Leeds as the centre-back has been a long-standing target for Farke.

However, the 49ers could take a slightly different approach, which would see some interesting players join.

Leeds United are on an exciting transfer mission this summer

There aren’t any signings or departures in place just yet, although it looks like Junior Firpo is edging closer to exiting Leeds.

Firpo’s loss will be important to Farke after the impact he’s had on this season, as the 49ers must find the perfect replacement.

Questions have also been raised of Illan Meslier, as Leeds have been told to sell Meslier with the keeper not up to the Premier League standard.

Well, Fotboll Direkt might have just found the perfect replacement, as the 49ers have sent their scouts on a transfer mission to Sweden.

Leeds are interested in Swedish side Mjällby AIF’s players, although it isn’t precisely clear who they are targeting the Whites have been keen on Niklas Rokjaer and goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist in a unique approach from the owners.

Leeds’ scouts aren’t messing about this summer

It’s clear the 49ers want a structure in place for transfers, and they’ve made that abundantly obvious with where they’re placing their scouts.

Sweden is certainly a different choice, but Farke may be seeking the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic or someone around this calibre.

It’s a hard ask, but Leeds want to replicate the Brentford’s and Brighton’s, who have had so much success with scouting in recent times.

Farke has also sent scouts to the Bundesliga as, of course, Farke knows the country well and has already found a gem in Ao Tanaka.

Promising signs are emerging, but the 49ers have to start putting words into action.
