The 49ers are seemingly moving at a pace behind the scenes as talks have begun with an England international.
Daniel Farke has the keys to major success at Leeds United, and next season could just be the starting point.
After Paraag Marathe loved Farke’s belief in promotion, the ownership couldn’t say no to him staying.
It would’ve been a harsh reality to let go of the German who has done so well in his short tenure at Elland Road.
Now, in the transfer window, the owners are returning the favour as talks are underway for one of Farke’s targets, and it’s not Nick Pope who has appeared on Leeds’ radar.

Leeds United begin talks with Newcastle’s Callum Wilson
The feeling around Elland Road is that a Premier League-proven striker is needed.
Despite Joel Piroe being a success, his consistency wasn’t the best, and Farke might be searching for a different option to try and keep the Whites in the Premier League, as a striker has been labelled a ‘priority’.
They can do this through Callum Wilson who is firmly in Leeds’ plans.
Wilson, who is set to leave Newcastle, would be the ideal candidate to fill the void of a reliable number nine.
It would be a strong deal, but there has been debate about whether the £110k-a-week striker would be a waste due to his poor injury record.
Nevertheless, Leeds Live suggests that talks have begun with the club and player, with an approach to Wilson’s representatives being made.
Although no details are known at present on what a deal to Leeds could look like if the club wanted to take it further.

Wilson should be signed as a number two option at Leeds
When in a Premier League battle at the bottom, it would be handy to have three options to rely on up top.
It seemed like Farke only had Piroe last season, and although that did the job, the Premier League is a different ball game.
With Mateo Joseph potentially joining Strasbourg, this opens the door for Wilson, but due to his injury history, it’s best to have him as a second choice.
This opens the door to another target to be the main man, and there have already been an array of options to consider alongside Wilson.

Davie Selke
Evan Ferguson
Beto
Tammy Abraham
Kasper Dolberg
Wilson would make for a strong signing, but the former England international should have to settle for second choice, even though he could still come up with big goals in the big moments.
