As Leeds United continue to be linked with a whole heap of potential signings, it will be an inevitability that outgoings will also occur. Josuha Guilavogui has already been confirmed.
As things stand, this month will also see the departures of four key players in Leeds’ Championship title success. Sam Byram and Junior Firpo see their deals end this month, as Lyon make a play to sign Firpo.
Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon will return to parent clubs Bournemouth and Tottenham. Right now, Leeds are far worse off as a squad than they were when finishing the season – with five players gone.
That list could grow, with Leeds likely to sell two or three players in order to improve the club’s PSR position and allow them to spend freely this summer. Three senior players represent potential profit.
Leeds have identified Willy Gnonto and Pascal Struijk as big profits if the club do need to worry about PSR, given they were bought for small fees and are now rated much higher. The same, for Mateo Joseph.

Todd Boehly prepares Mateo Joseph move – but not for Chelsea
Joseph’s future is a question mark this summer. The Spain U21 man only scored three goals last season and Real Betis are expected to enter talks for Joseph soon, after losing to Todd Boehly’s Chelsea, 4-1.
Betis had a £10m bid rejected for Joseph in January and Leeds now rate the striker at £12.75m. But it appears that Betis may not be the only club interested, with French side Strasbourg also looking at him.
Boehly purchased a majority stake in Strasbourg with his company BlueCo, in 2023. Leeds Live claim that Strasbourg could make a move for Joseph and any cash spent would come out of Boehly’s pocket.

Leeds need to sell Mateo Joseph to improve PSR situation
There is interest in Joseph, clubs are willing to pay eight-figure fees given Betis were willing to part with £10m in January, and Leeds will need to keep an eye on PSR – while also targeting new strikers.
Joseph is only going to fall down the pecking order. Instead of selling Gnonto or vice-captain Struijk, who are much more important to Daniel Farke’s side, it makes more sense simply to cash in on Joseph.
If Strasbourg are willing to part with Leeds’ asking price of £12.75m then it is a no-brainer. An eight-figure profit on a player that will only be third or fourth choice next season – it seems like it would suit all.
