Leeds United are being linked with a plethora of different players with the January window now in full flow. Players from all over Europe and beyond, from defenders to no.10’s and even strikers.
Leeds are said to be eyeing four new additions, with The 49ers targeting a centre-back, full-back, a striker and a central midfielder. That is despite Daniel Farke telling media that January would be quiet at Leeds.
The 3-3 draw against Hull showed Leeds needs cover at centre-back. Pascal Struijk was missing and Ethan Ampadu replaced him, but Leeds lost the skipper’s ability to control games and conceded three times.
Graham Smyth predicted a move for a no.10 before the window opened, while Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt are being linked with exits. Hull City are leading the race to sign Gelhardt and he is keen to go.

Leeds receive boost in pursuit of Hoffenheim’s Mergim Berisha
Earlier this week, reports said that Leeds were interested in two-time Germany star Mergim Berisha as the striker looks to get his career back on track. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury last season.
That came shortly after joining Hoffenheim for £11.6m. His game time has been limited, playing just 24 times for Hoffenheim and scoring one goal in 18 months for the Bundesliga club despite wearing no,10.
Berisha has changed agents to try and find a move this month, with Hoffenheim keen to loan him out to a foreign side. Now, 90Min’s German website have an update regarding the future of Hoffenheim’s Berisha.
Werder Bremen are also eyeing Berisha but 90Min question whether Bremen would be able to afford the striker’s wages. They say Hoffenheim will also sell him permanently, for half of their initial outlay at £5.8m.

Three Leeds United players know Mergim Berisha very well
Rasmus Kristensen, Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson all played alongside Berisha at Red Bull Salzburg, under Jesse Marsch. Berisha was key in Marsch’s two Austrian Bundesliga titles while Salzburg manager.
He spent six months with Aaronson in which Aaronson and Berisha combined for four goals. Then, at Leeds, Marsch actually made a bid to sign Berisha from Fenerbahce according to Turkish site Yeni Safak.
But nothing materialised and instead, Berisha went to Augsburg before his move to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2023. With Aaronson and Wober at Leeds, Berisha may be keen on moving to Elland Road.
