Leeds United are exploring many different signings this window, but there aren’t any key attacking options added so far.

It’s been a solid start to the transfer window from Leeds as Daniel Farke and the 49ers are making moves.

The season is certainly underway now as the new home kit has been released but fans aren’t happy with the new Leeds strip.

Nevertheless, that won’t stop players arriving to the club this summer, as a new target is on the Whites’ radar.

He’s a player well-known in the Premier League picture, and strangely, he could already be on the move after only being sold from Arsenal a month ago.

Leeds United want to sign ‘top-level’ former Arsenal star Nuno Tavares

It’s been made clear that Premier League targets will be coming to Leeds, but so far the club have only explored Serie A and Bundesliga players.

This could be down to Farke’s transfer strategy, but it seems as though fans haven’t complained with a single player who has walked through the door.

Well, it seems the top flight signings will have to wait as another player from the Serie A is being suggested after Jaka Bijol.

Calcio Mercato suggest that Leeds along with West Ham are keen to bring Nuno Tavares back to the Premier League.

Remarkably, Tavares was only sold from Arsenal in June for £6.5m after an initial loan spell for Lazio, but now the Italian side want to sell him on again.

Lazio have set a £17m to £21m price tag for the Portugal left-back if they do sell him in this window, and they’ve made it very clear they won’t give clubs a discount due to ‘wealthy’ Premier League clubs being interested in the 25-year-old.

With Premier League experience and his former manager, Igor Tudor, calling him a ‘top-level’ player during his Marseille stint in a 22/23 season press conference, Farke might have landed the jackpot.

Leeds target Tavares has turned a leaf since Arsenal stint

Many fans might recall Tavares ultimately being a flop with the Gunners since his £6.8m move from Benfica in 2021.

But the full-back has turned over a new leaf since then, and could prove very useful to Farke this season.

His ability to play on both sides of defence is something that brings rarity, and he also fits the bill in terms of an attacking full-back which is what Farke prides himself on.

Tavares has been mooted for Leeds as an option as the deal for the 25-year-old will be interesting as this saga develops.

One thing is clear is Tavares’ improvement as he has been brilliant at Lazio compared to his time back in England, which raises eyebrows as to why they want to sell the Portuguese.

Nevertheless, the price-tag has been set and now it’s up to Leeds to bring a transfer to fruition, as he could be the ultimate Junior Firpo replacement.
