Jamie Vardy has a subtle message for Leeds United amid rumours that Daniel Farke could sign him

Leeds United could scour the free agent market this summer, and one potential signing has just flung the door open on a potential move to Elland Road.

For all the money that Daniel Farke and Leeds United might spend this summer, expect the Whites to want their share of bargains.

The top players are proving ever more costly. Leeds United are ready to spend £100million on new signings this summer but already we’re seeing that even a handful of players could eat up all of that money.

For example, Leeds United want Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostantinos Tsimikas in a double deal that could reportedly cost up to £40million. Then there’s the likes of Leonardo Balerdi who Leeds United want to sign in a £38million deal.

For Farke then, the free and loan market could play an equally important role in his side’s summer transfer window, with his side likely to get that added depth from these two markets.

One such free agent linked with a move to Elland Road is Jamie Vardy. Leeds United are keeping tabs on Vardy who’s set to become a free agent this summer, leaving Leicester City after a stunning 13-year stretch with the club.

He’s one of many strikers linked with Leeds United this summer. And despite links to the likes of Wrexham and to the MLS, Vardy has said he can still cut it in the top flight despite now being 38 years old.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Vardy was asked if he can still hack it in the Premier League. He said: “Yeah, 100%. But again, football’s a crazy world. So you never know what’s going to happen. I’m always excited for what comes next. I’ve always said I’ll keep going until my legs literally tell me, no, you need to stop, we’re done. And my legs are fine.”

Paul Gascoigne suggests alternative move for Jamie Vardy this summer

It’s fair to say that Leeds United fans have mixed feelings about Vardy joining this summer. Many want to see the club sign someone much younger who could have sell-on value, whilst many others think it’d be a useful squad signing.

And whilst Vardy insists he can still stay in the Premier League, whether or not any club comes in for him remains to be seen. Instead, though, Paul Gascoigne thinks Vardy could join Rangers.

The former England star said: “Yeah, you could do. Rangers is a tough team to play for, you’ve got to make sure you’re winning every game. I’m sure he’ll score some goals up there.”

Vardy moving to Scotland would keep him at a good level and would avoid him playing for any rival team to Leicester City, so it could be a good option for him.
