Leeds United maintain their unbeaten start to 2025, following their demolition of Cardiff City last time out.
2025 has been kind to Leeds United in terms of results. Daniel Farke’s side are yet to lose and have now opened up a five point lead over Burnley in 3rd, after Leeds’ 7-0 win over Cardiff City last time out.
The game at Elland Road was an ode to Leeds’ attacking talent and firepower. But has that win changed anything about Farke’s plans for deadline day?

Cardiff City demolition changes nothing at Leeds United
Beren Cross has revealed the latest on Farke’s Leeds United transfer plans for deadline day. He writes that, in the wake of the win over Cardiff City, nothing has change with regards to the club’s transfer plans.
But Farke and co ‘have promised to stay awake on Monday until the final hour of this transfer window’, as Cross writes for The Athletic.
He wrote in full: “This whitewash [win over Cardiff City] has not altered Farke’s opinion on reinforcements. A loss or draw would not have triggered a flurry of panic buys and this hammering does not leave him feeling his squad is flawless.
“Leeds, Farke and his recruitment team have promised to stay awake on Monday until the final hour of this transfer window.”

Leeds United’s true deadline day target is revealed
There’s a handful of players linked with moves to Leeds United ahead of deadline day, albeit not a horde of names like we’ve seen throughout the window as a whole.
But on Sunday, it was revealed that Cameron Archer is Leeds’ no.1 target for deadline day. And on a positive note, Archer could now leave Southampton who are poised to sign Victor Udoh from Royal Antwerp.
Sunderland are also keen on the 23-year-old Archer, though, so a move for Leeds is not cut and dried at all.
