All the talk about Leeds United in the build up to deadline day has been about who they might sign. But there could yet be a big money player exit.

There’s bound to be some movement at Elland Road on deadline day. Leeds United look desperate to seal a late deal or two and there’s no end of players being linked.

Right now though, it looks like Cameron Archer is a prime target for Leeds United, though he has interest from the likes of Sunderland too.

Meanwhile, Daniel Farke might have to deal with late interest in attacker Wilfried Gnonto.

Wilfried Gnonto could leave Leeds United on deadline day

Gnonto, 21, has featured 28 times in the Championship this season, though many of his appearances has come as a substitute. Despite that, he’s scored five and assisted five, with a goal in Leeds’ 7-0 win over Cardiff City last time out.

Now though, The Sun has reported that ‘a number of Saudi Pro League sides’ are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old attacker, and that the 49ers have set a £50million asking price.

Leeds signed Gnonto from FC Zurich in a £3.8million deal in 2022. But any possible move to Saudi Arabia will have to wait until the summer, as their transfer window closed on January 31st.

What Daniel Farke said about Wilfried Gnonto’s situation at Leeds United

Speaking earlier in January, Farke discussed Gnonto’s position at Leeds and why he’s maybe not starting as many games as he might have liked.

Farke explained: “He is not as static, much more involved. Much more lively and adventurous, he’s become less predictable compared to last season. The only that is lacking is end product but that is something he can add.”

Whilst he remains an important player and one with huge potential still, at just 21 years old, £50million for a player they paid just £3.8million for might be foolish to turn down.

It could be smart business for the 49ers, though Farke would surely want a replacement signed before. This could be more of a summer deal for Leeds.
