The deadline day rumour mill is in full swing. Leeds United are being linked with a number of new names, Chelsea’s Marc Guiu being one. But he’s not who the club really wants.
Leeds United are yet to make a signing in January and now with Monday’s 11pm deadline fast approaching, there seems to be a rush from those at Elland Road.
In the last few days, names like Matt Targett has been strongly linked with Leeds, along with others like Kelechi Iheanacho and Cameron Archer to name a couple.
On Sunday, it was claimed that Leeds United are interested in Marc Guiu at Chelsea. The 19-year-old Spanish striker has featured twice in the Premier League this season, following his summer move from Barcelona.
But it looks as though Leeds United won’t be signing Guiu after all.

Ben Jacobs reveals Leeds United’s true transfer target
Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed the latest on the Guiu to Leeds rumour. He simply writes that Leeds United ‘are not considering a loan move’ for Guiu at this time. Instead, Leeds want Archer.
Jacobs adds on the Archer situation that there’s not yet been any movement, but that Leeds are trying to change Southampton’s mind about keeping him beyond deadline day.
Leeds United have seen a loan bid rejected for Archer as Southampton want to keep him until the summer at least. Soon after, it was reported that Leeds United were submitting a second bid for Archer.

What Southampton manager Ivan Juric has said about Cameron Archer interest
In the last few days, both Leeds United and Sunderland have been linked with Archer, who may have widespread interest across the Championship.
Speaking on Friday however, Southampton boss Ivan Juric played down Archer’s possible exit before the transfer window shuts.
He said: “We will see in these [coming] days. I don’t think something will happen. He will stay with us and we will work with him, I think so.”
Leeds aren’t giving up, though. Jacobs’ post makes it clear that Leeds want Archer before the window shuts, and that they’re working hard on making a deal happen.
