Leeds United will be hoping to secure a signing before the January deadline as despite strong form, the squad needs additions.

Daniel Farke wants new additions and will no doubt be pushing for the ownership to sign some.

Leeds United’s current squad may not be enough in terms of promotion to the Premier League but they have suggested otherwise so far in the Championship.

There could be signings on the horizon as Kelechi Iheanacho could join Leeds in a loan deal.

However, a signing that is popular among Leeds fans may have just taken a blow.

Cameron Archer is someone Leeds want and over the past few days, this deal has escalated as Daniel Farke may hope to strike a deal with Southampton.

This could now be in jeopardy however as Saints boss Ivan Juric made his feelings clear in Thursday’s pre-match press conference.

“I think Cameron is a very good player and a great guy. For him, we’ve changed the style of game a little bit and maybe he’s suffered a little bit,” Juric said.

“But he is working really hard to understand what I want from him. We will see in these [coming] days. I don’t think something will happen. He will stay with us and we will work with him, I think so.”

Leeds target Archer could disagree with Juric due to Premier League future

Looking at where the two clubs stand in their respective leagues, it could surprise people that Southampton are making the demands.

Archer may look at this and think, his future in the Premier League could lie with Leeds, as the two clubs could be set for a straight swap next season.

Juric has made his stance clear, but there has been indication that Archer is keen on a move to Leeds.

Leeds have submitted a second offer for Archer and should the player take into account the future of both clubs, the ball may no longer be in Southampton’s court.
