Daniel Farke has been speaking about the January transfer window once again on Thursday afternoon ahead of Leeds United’s clash against promotion rivals Burnley on Monday.
Leeds remain top of the table after Wednesday night’s 2-0 win over Norwich City. The win sees Farke stay unbeaten against his old side since joining, winning four and drawing two of six games against Norwich.
With 18 games left to play, Leeds are perfectly-placed to go and secure automatic promotion. A point ahead of Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, three in front of Burnley and five ahead of Sunderland in 4th.
Chris Wilder has added Ben Brereton Diaz and wants five signings in total, while Leeds fans are worried after Sunderland landed Enzo Le Fee. Burnley have signed Jonjo Shelvey, Oliver Sonne and Ashley Barnes.

Daniel Farke says he wants three new signings at Leeds United
Farke seems to be increasing the pressure on The 49ers and the Leeds transfer department. Farke began the month by saying he expected a quiet January, but on Thursday was his clearest indication yet.
Indeed, Farke outlined the need for three new signings, firstly explaining the priority which is bringing in competition for Brenden Aaronson. He described Aaronson as “excellent”, but wants another no.10.
“It’s fair to say, if there is a creative offensive player – a no.10 – it is definitely something that could be beneficial. Brenden Aaronson is excellent, a key player for us, but we don’t have a similar player.
“We have players that can play in this role, Joel Piroe or a winger – but it is different. If there is a solution for a creative player, it makes sense to stay awake,” Farke continued, when discussing a new no.10.
Daniel Farke also says he wants a defender and a striker
Pascal Struijk will only be sidelined until the end of the month, but Farke said that despite that he would still like a defender given Struijk’s “injury CV” and that Max Wober has struggled with a knee problem.
Farke also said he would like a striker given Joe Gelhardt has left, while Patrick Bamford remains injured. He said: “Centre-back. Struijk and Wober have not been available all the time and this concerns me.
“The striker position too, we have two fit strikers. You know how much I rate Patrick Bamford and it would be outstanding to have him, but he has had injuries. We will assess the centre-back and striker positions.
“These are the three positions we will look at. The quality has to be right, but it has to be proper quality. The character and attitude has to be right and if the player is affordable. We will see if we find a solution.”
Leeds have been loosely linked with a plethora of different players throughout January but at the time of writing, there has been nothing concrete. It remains to be seen if Leeds will actually make any signings.
