Fresh update emerges with Leeds United joining race for ‘superstar’ striker as Patrick Bamford exit mooted

With Daniel Farke unsure over his striker position at Leeds United, targets will need to be suggested.

Both Joel Piroe and Patrick Bamford have proven they can’t exactly be relied upon at Leeds.

Despite Piroe having a solid season, it’s been a rough few weeks for the Dutchman, as Leeds fans want Piroe dropped.

This will leave Farke to question whether Bamford can take the reins for the rest of the season.

But the only answer to this conundrum is that the Whites need a new striker, and there is a very ambitious move waiting in the wings.

Leeds United join race for ambitious Evan Ferguson move

With Leeds looking to make a number nine their priority, Farke has to get it right, as they will need to rely on goals in the Premier League.

Callum Wilson is on Leeds’ radar, but like Bamford, it could be a risky move from the Whites with his injury record.

It’s been a while since Leeds have had a striker they can fully rely upon, as Chris Wood is the only recent one that springs to mind.

However, TEAMtalk have made it very clear that Leeds are in the race for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.

With Ferguson on loan at West Ham, next summer will be a chance to assess his options, and Leeds are ‘keeping tabs on his situation’ as they look to bring in a long-term replacement for Bamford.

Leeds could have risk with ‘superstar’ Ferguson

This isn’t too new to Whites fans, as Leeds have been told Ferguson is ‘perfect’ but would be extremely ambitious as the Irishman has been previously rated at £100m.

It’s gone downhill for the youngster, though and he hasn’t exactly set the world a light for the Hammers, which is a stark contrast from Micah Richards calling Ferguson a ‘superstar’ on Match Of The Day in 2023.

Leeds could present a fresh opportunity, but there is extreme risk if Farke opts to move for the 20-year-old.

Like Bamford and Wilson, Ferguson also comes with injury concerns, and it leaves the Leeds boss pondering where to go next.

Piroe has been relied upon fitness-wise, but one goal in nine matches isn’t going to cut it in the Premier League.

Ferguson has plenty of interest with Everton high on his case, but if Leeds were to stake their claim, it would be a gamble no doubt.
