Leeds United will be relishing in their glory from the weekend as everything panned out perfectly.

The atmosphere around the club has changed immensly from the last couple of weeks as Daniel Farke’s task looks set to be completed.

Leeds are edging ever closer, whilst Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United are looking destined for the playoffs.

It’s become apparent that Farke has created a unity, even though players like Max Wober have found it tough at Leeds.

Aside from the few anomalies, the squad is in a good place, and their reaction after the events of Saturday unfolded says it all.

This can create a winning mentality and one which Leeds need in such a pivotal point of the season.

Although Leeds are clear frontrunners when fixtures and position are taken into account, captain Ethan Ampadu explained why the players didn’t give much of a reaction to the win vs Preston.

Speaking to CBS sports, Ampadu made it clear that there wasn’t any celebration after the Whites stretched their gap to five points.

“Honestly, I wish I could say there was (a celebration), but there wasn’t,” Ampadu said.

“We were in this point a few weeks ago and we let it slip a little bit so until anything’s done, I think no team will let up.

“That’s just our mentality, I’ll be honest, I wish we could say we enjoy and think that way but we just don’t.”

Ampadu response paints perfect picture for Farke at Leeds

With just four games left of the season, Ampadu knows that anything can happen in the Championship, and the easter weekend fixtures could be the making of this season.

Although the games favour the Whites, everyone in that dressing room will know how it can all change in an instance.

Along with Ampadu, Joe Rodon has shown his passion for Leeds, as he is another who shares this brilliant mentality.

Farke will love hearing and seeing what it means to the players, as he made his own claim on why a team’s mentality is crucial to a season ending.

Speaking after the Preston win, Farke said: “If you want to win titles or promotion, which is more important, you have to have a special mentality that you don’t crack under pressure.

“If you don’t do this you can’t win anything. Don’t lose your head, use this fire to channel it in a perfect way.

“The lads did this in a perfect way and can take a lot of confidence from it.”

These comments have clearly stuck with the players and shows the difference between Leeds and other teams, as Wilder admitted Sheffield have ‘let it slip’.

The response from everyone in the Leeds camp has been sensational, but the job is not done yet.
