Leeds United may well be the perfect January destination for one Premier League hotshot. But whether or not a move is on the cards remains to be seen.
Leeds United may look to bolster their frontline in January with no single player really blowing the Championship away in terms of goals.
Joel Piroe has been a figure of debate in recent weeks, but he’s the club’s leading scorer in the Championship this season with seven – that’s compared to the league’s leading scorer, Borja Sainz at Norwich City, who’s already on 15 goals.
And with Patrick Bamford possibly leaving Leeds United in January, a new striker addition could yet become necessary for Daniel Farke’s side, who sit in 2nd place of the Championship table and now three points behind leaders Sheffield United.
Where the Whites might look for new signings remains to be seen. They have money to spend but they may also make use of the loan market.
Should the latter be the case, Brighton’s Evan Ferguson could be a good shout.

Leeds United told Evan Ferguson is ‘perfect’ January signing
Ferguson, 20, has fallen down the pecking order at Brighton this season, scoring just once in 11 Premier League outings.
The Irishman had netted six times in both his previous Premier League campaigns, asserting himself as one of the country’s hottest young strikers.
But Ferguson may now leave Brighton on loan in January. Quoted by The Scotsman, pundit Don Goodman has suggested that Elland Road would be the ‘perfect’ loan destination for Ferguson, but that a Championship move is unlikely.
Goodman said: “Just 18 months ago, he was being lauded as a £100 million player. I can’t see him playing in the Championship no matter how big a club is.
“I do think Evan Ferguson would be the perfect addition to Leeds United or Sunderland. But do I think he’ll end up in the Championship? No, I don’t.”

Patrick Bamford exit could pave way for Evan Ferguson loan signing
As it stands, a loan deal for Ferguson looks unlikely. But if Bamford leaves Leeds early on in January then it would free up a lot of resources, and a space in the side, for Ferguson to possibly come in.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, Farke gave his verdict on Bamford’s transfer rumours, saying: “No I’m not aware of any interest, we want all our players to be focused on us right now.”
Not ruling out the deal suggests that it could definitely be on the cards. Bamford’s exit, given his huge wages, would certainly be a weight off Leeds’ shoulders, and Ferguson would be a huge upgrade too.
Like Goodman suggests, though, a Premier League move feels more likely for Ferguson.
