Fresh Jack Harrison conundrum as Everton and Leeds United join race to sign winger with a ‘taste for goals’

As if Jack Harrison’s future wasn’t uncertain enough, a new transfer development involving both Leeds United and Everton has made matters ever trickier.

Jack Harrison is enduing a rather rotten season on loan at Everton from Leeds United. The winger has failed to record a single goal contribution in 22 Premier League games for the Toffees this season.

The latest on his future comes from transfer expert Graeme Bailey who recently revealed to us that Harrison could return to Leeds United in the summer and play a sort of utility role next season, given the likely departure of Junior Firpo on the left flank.

But there’d be a lot of eyes on Harrison should he come back to Elland Road. Everton fans have been unimpressed with Harrison so far and it appears as though very few Leeds fans are enticed by the idea of the 28-year-old returning for next season.

Especially if Leeds are to return to the Premier League, Daniel Farke would need some definite Premier League quality and Harrison hasn’t shown that this season. One name who could be a good signing though is Nicolas Kuhn.

Everton and Leeds United in race to sign Celtic attacker Nicolas Kuhn

Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn is enjoying a prolific season in the Scottish top flight. The 25-year-old German has 10 goals and six assists in 22 league games for Celtic so far this season, and his fine form north of the border has put a number of teams south of the border on red alert.

TBR Football have revealed that Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United, and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on Kuhn ahead of a possible summer move. The wide man, who Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers says has a ‘taste for goals’, was signed by Celtic for just £3million in January 2024.

No new price tag has yet been mentioned. But given his fine form and the amount of teams now taking a look at the former Ajax and Bayern Munich man, don’t expect him to come cheap.

What it all means for Jack Harrison amid Leeds United and Everton stand off

Rather brutally, it seems like neither Leeds United nor Everton want Harrison on their books for next season. Harrison wants to stay at Everton beyond this season with the Toffees holding a £20million option to buy.

Though the chances of Everton triggering that option seem very slim given his poor form. Meanwhile, Farke seems more keen to sign Manor Solomon on a permanent deal from Spurs, whilst there’s also the likes of Sam Chambers breaking through on the wing.

Now with Kuhn linked, it could signal at both Everton and Leeds’ uninterest in taking Harrison into next season. As a Leeds player, though, they’ll have to figure out what to do. A summer sale could be best for all involved.
