Jack Harrison remains quite a controversial topic among Leeds United fans. Struggling for form at Everton, his future remains very unclear right now.

Jack Harrison returned to Everton on loan during the summer, sealing a second-straight loan move to Goodison Park after his steady 2023/24 campaign with the Toffees.

This season has been a different story. Harrison’s Everton form has been criticised with the winger featuring 19 times in the Premier League without recording a single goal contribution.

On deadline day, Fulham plotted a move for Harrison, though he remains with Everton until the summer. During the pre-season, Daniel Farke and co will have a tough decision to make on Harrison’s future.

The 28-year-old remains under contract at Elland Road until 2028. Whilst he’d no doubt be a useful player for the Whites, whether in the Premier League or the Championship, it may be time for the two to finally part ways for good.

Jack Harrison wants to leave Leeds United for Everton

And parting ways is exactly what Harrison wants to do at the end of this season. An emerging report from The Athletic has revealed that Harrison’s ‘preference is to try to earn a permanent deal at Everton’ following he conclusion of his second loan spell at the club.

The same report also confirms that Harrison was ‘the subject of enquiries from other Premier League sides’ in January, whilst Leeds had no option to recall the struggling wide man despite reports that Harrison could’ve returned in January.

It was also revealed that Leeds wanted Harrison to stay at Everton, after he’d made it clear that he wanted to return to Merseyside during the summer.

What David Moyes has said about Jack Harrison at Everton

Harrison is a bit of a talking point at Everton, given his poor form in the league and his continued presence at the club.

But arriving manager David Moyes has a plan for Harrison. The Everton boss wants Harrison to rediscover his confidence in the Toffees’ quest to push further up the Premier League table this season.

Right now, Everton sit in 16th place of the table but have a relatively comfortable nine point gap between themselves and Leicester City in 18th.

Leeds meanwhile sit in 1st place of the Championship table following their convincing 2-0 win at Coventry City on Wednesday night.
