The line is that Leeds United went all of January without making a new signing. Alan Nixon though thinks that might not be the case.
Leeds United fans waited all month for a new signing to arrive at Elland Road. Deadline day came around and that wait intensified, only for the 11pm to pass and Leeds not to make any announcements.
Nonetheless, Daniel Farke retains a very strong squad. He said Leeds would be quiet in January and that they were, although a number of players were linked with Leeds United in the end.
Cameron Archer was the man who everyone was talking about on deadline day. In the end though, he stayed at Southampton, although a summer move could be something that both Leeds and Southampton entertain.
Farke is now gearing up for a midweek trip to Coventry City in what is the first of 16 remaining games for the Whites, and all with the same squad that he started the season with.

Did Leeds United sign Robbie Cook in January?
There seems to be a bit of confusion over Robbie Cook. The 17-year-old goalkeeper from Perth Glory was wanted by a number of clubs before the January transfer window opened, with Leeds heavily linked.
Then a week after the January transfer window officially opened, it was reported that Leeds United had signed Cook, though there never seemed to be an official announcement from the Whites.
It was even suggested that Leeds’ deal for Cook hadn’t been finalised and that the Australian shot-stopper was still on trial at Thorp Arch.
After that, news of Cook to Leeds went cold. But Alan Nixon wrote on Patreon on Tuesday morning that ‘Leeds United signed a player but never bothered advertising it’.
There’s no sign of a club announcement stating that Cook had joined. Interestingly, sources online don’t state that he’s a Leeds player either.
Have Leeds United just signed their future no.1?
Whether Nixon is referring to Cook or not remains to be seen. But it would make sense that he is – Cook being strongly linked, even on trial, only for the rumours to die off and then Nixon to state that Leeds did sign a player in January.
And it would also make sense that Leeds signed a young goalkeeper given the long-term uncertainty over the goalkeeping spot at the club.
Criticism of Illan Meslier has died down amid this good run of form. But with his future at the club still very much up in the air, and an ageing Karl Darlow as no.2, Cook could well be someone who’s fast-tracked towards the first-team in the coming months.
