Winners at Leeds United, in a transfer window where nobody was signed? Daniel Farke said all along that his side would be quiet, and there’s no reason to be too disheartened by the lack of signings.
Deadline day was eventful and at times exciting for Leeds United fans. In the end though, 11pm came and went, and no new names arrived at Elland Road.
The main story for the Whites was Cameron Archer. Leeds tried desperately to sign Archer but he remains at Southampton until the summer, where links to Elland Road could easily reignite if Southampton and Leeds trade places.
Two players left Leeds United in Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Crew, who sealed loan moves to Hull City and Doncaster Rovers respectively.

Three winners at Leeds United after January transfer window
Arguably the biggest winner of everything that happened at Leeds in January is Gelhardt. He sealed his much-needed loan exit and now he’s got a great chance to play some regular football.
Hull City boss Ruben Selles likes Gelhardt and thinks he could become a very important player for Hull in their fight against relegation. Gelhardt has one goal in four Championship games so far.
Meanwhile, Patrick Bamford may be delighted with the outcome of his January transfer window. There was rumoured transfer interest in Bamford with the likes of Blackburn Rovers linked with the 31-year-old, who earns £40,000-a-week at Elland Road per Salary Sport.
It was said all along that Bamford was happy to stay at Leeds United despite his lack of game time, and it’s easy to see why when we know how much he’s warning in West Yorkshire.
Another striker in Joel Piroe may be the other big winner of Leeds’ January transfer window. He’s been a very divisive player among fans this season, but his goals tally keeps getting bigger.
He’s now on 12 for the season after scoring a brace in the 7-0 win against Cardiff City. Leeds looked at several strikers but none arrived, keeping Piroe as the main striker option for Farke.

One clear loser at Leeds United after January
With nobody arriving at Leeds, and the likes of Gelhardt getting his move, there should really be no unhappiness at the club. But attacker Wilfried Gnonto may have some thoughts about the window.
The Italian remains a backup player for Farke. He’s not started a league game for Leeds since late December and on deadline day, it was reported that Leeds had slapped a £50million price tag on Gnonto’s head amid lingering interest from Saudi Arabia.
Gnonto seems happy enough with his role right now, but it can’t go on forever. The summer time will surely see Gnonto seal a move elsewhere.
