Wednesday night saw Leeds United pick up yet another win in the Championship, maintaining their unbeaten start to 2025.
In fact, Leeds United’s unbeaten run stretches much further back than 2025. The last time Daniel Farke’s side were beaten was by Blackburn Rovers back in November.
Leeds are on a 14-game unbeaten run right now. The 7-0 demolition of Cardiff City was followed up by a confident 2-0 win at Coventry City on Wednesday, the goals coming from Joel Piroe and Jayden Bogle in the first half.
After the win over Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, Leeds maintain a five point lead over Burney in 2nd, with Sheffield United in 3rd level on point with Burnley too.
Once again, there were plenty of positives for Leeds to take away from their win, and very few negatives. But one player had Farke with his head in his hands on multiple occasions against Coventry.

Daniel Farke denies Joe Rodon frustration after Leeds United win at Coventry City
Speaking to the press after the win at the CBS Arena, Farke was asked whether or not he was frustrated with Joe Rodon who on multiple occasions lost possession when running out from the back.
Farke denied being annoyed with Rodon’s performance and gave a rather tactical explanation as to why. He said: “No. We want to do this because that’s the skill of him, but this is also some of the details I addressed even before.
“So if a centre-back steps up and they play with two strikers, and one striker is lurking and cheating a little bit, and waits for a loss of the ball, then you have to make sure that you offer runs in behind, and that the pass is not too risky through the centre, and then the ball has to go a bit more like in the advanced position, that if you lose it, Joe has also time to come back and not like to play the most risky pass through a small gap like, and then we lose the ball and we concede a counter-attack.
“So it’s always like this decision-making in the end. So I don’t criticise, I more like that he has the skill and does this.”

Daniel Farke already knows how important Joe Rodon is for Leeds United
Rodon’s talent can often go unnoticed with Leeds, especially in games where the Whites are dominant and Rodon doesn’t have a lot of defending to do.
But Illan Meslier now has 19 clean sheets in 31 Championship games this season, so Rodon is certainly doing his defensive duties properly.
And although there were some loose passes and runs against Coventry, Rodon is usually very good at that part of his game. Speaking after the Burnley game in January, Farke said Rodon was ‘remarkable’.
To come through that tough a game with such praise from Farke proves how good Rodon really is.
