The list of players linked with moves to Leeds United ahead of the summer keeps on growing, with some really exciting names being mentioned.

Daniel Farke could oversee one of the busiest and most expensive transfer windows that Leeds United has ever seen this summer, providing he can finish the job in the race for promotion.

The Whites remain in 1st place of the Championship table and many are backing Leeds United to win the title this season, having now gone 15 games unbeaten in the league following an impressive 2-1 comeback win against Sunderland in their last outing.

Up next is another promotion crunch match against Sheffield United on Monday. But a win here would put Leeds yet another step closer to promotion, and it’d give Farke and co even more reason to start looking towards the summer transfer window.

So far, it’s been reported that Leeds United will make a move for Emi Buendia providing that Bayer Leverkusen don’t activate their £16.7million option to buy, with Southampton attacker Cameron Archer another target for Farke.

Tammy Abraham linked with Leeds United, Carlton Palmer backs the move

More recently, reports have claimed that Leeds United are interested in Roma striker Tammy Abraham. The 27-year-old is on loan at AC Milan this season where he’s so far scored twice in 20 Serie A games, with 37 goals in 120 total games for Roma following his 2021 move from Chelsea.

Speaking to Football League World, pundit Carlton Palmer has backed Leeds’ ability to pay Abraham’s Roma wages, given the fact that Leeds already pay a number of players high wages.

Palmer explained: “Obviously, first of all, Leeds United have got to get into the Premier League, to have any chance of signing him. Obviously, his salary, they’re already paying big money Leeds United, so his salary wouldn’t be an issue for them.”

Palmer later added: “The one thing that’s going to keep you in the Premier League is you’ve got to have somebody who can score you goals at the level consistently. You need two or three players who are going to get you 15 or 16 goals to give you any chance of staying in the Premier League.

“I really like Tammy Abraham. I think he’s a really, really good player, and I think if they could get him into the football club for £30-£40m, it’d be a good bit of business.”

How much Roma paid for Tammy Abraham, his contract and current wages

Two things seem certain here: Abraham would be a very costly signing for Leeds United, but he’d be a great signing too. He’s got great experience on some of the world’s biggest stages and although he’s not been prolific this season, he’s got a proven track record.

In 2021, Roma paid £34million to sign Abraham from Chelsea. But he’s out of contract in 2026 and so Roma may be inclined to accept a lower offer this coming summer, in a bid to avoid losing him for nothing in 2026.

And per Capology, Abraham earns a staggering £92,000-a-week. That would make him by far the highest-paid player at Elland Road and so Palmer’s claims about Leeds being able to afford Abraham’s wages may be premature.

Nonetheless, it’s an exciting link, and Leeds remain in desperate need of a striker.
