Fabrizio Romano says Leeds United are holding firm in their stance over selling key players this summer.
It would appear that gone are the days of Leeds letting their best players go for cheap, even despite the fact they are in the Championship for a second successive season.
Leeds had been on the wrong side of the EFL’s Profit and Sustainability rules earlier in the summer but the sale of Archie Gray to Tottenham has helped them considerably.
Charlie Cresswell’s £3.8 million move to Toulouse will also represent pure profit on Leeds’ latest accounts, while Glen Kamara was sold for more than he was bought for just 12 months ago, too.
As such, Leeds have now been telling clubs interested in their players they are under no pressure to sell and so to meet their big asking prices.

Romano shares new update on Crysencio Summerville’s Leeds future
Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are the two players left in Leeds’ squad who are attracting the most interest as the window heads towards its final month.
Gnonto is wanted by Everton, while Summerville is on the shortlist of numerous clubs from across Europe’s top five leagues.
West Ham United were the latest side to speak to Leeds about a potential deal for Summerville this week, with Fabrizio Romano reporting an offer was made by the Hammers.
And Romano has now shared a new update on West Ham’s pursuit of the 22-year-old by confirming their interest is genuine, but that they could well end up being priced out of a move by Leeds.
He told Give Me Sport: “The interest is still there in Summerville. It’s an expensive package, so I’m not sure West Ham will be able to make it happen, but the interest is genuine.
“They had contacts on the player’s side and contacts on the club side after speaking to Leeds last week. He is one of the players they have on their shortlist.”

What Leeds are telling clubs interested in Summerville
With West Ham potentially about to be priced out of a move for the ‘unbelievable‘ Summerville, it is clear Leeds simply aren’t budging from their valuation.
Leeds have set an asking price of £30 million and are telling clubs there won’t be any scope for a cut-price deal, and to simply pay up if they want him.
Summerville is said to have an understanding with Leeds that an exit is likely this summer, but won’t be forcing through a move.
As the clock ticks towards the end of the window without a club meeting Leeds’ asking price, the more chance Summerville may well end up staying.
