West Ham United reportedly opened talks to sign Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville on Monday, and now the stance of the player’s agents has been revealed.
Interest in Summerville has been aplenty this summer with most Premier League clubs being linked with The Championship’s Player of the Season at some point. Summerville had a hand in 31 goals last term.
Still only 22, he is hot property. Leeds are in a stronger position financially after the sale of Archie Gray and others, but if the price is right, The 49ers are expected to cash in on a player bought for just £1.3m.
Summerville is said to be ‘weighing up his options’ with Newcastle, Palace and Villa all linked. Prior to Fabrizio Romano’s news of West Ham opening talks for Summerville, Manchester United were touted.

The Hammers have been active this summer. Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham have come in, but Julen Lopetegui’s side are showing no signs of slowing down despite spending about £60m.
Especially having raked in close to £40m on the sales of Flynn Downes, Said Benrahma and Thilo Kehrer. Summerville could be next, as the Hammers look to bring in a top-quality left-sided winger this summer.
Leeds Live say his agents are keen to do as good a deal for Leeds as possible. All expect Summerville to move on, but his team want a deal to favour Leeds after signing him at just 18 and giving him a chance.
The 49ers have set some lofty price tags this summer
It’s great that The 49ers are keen to extract as much money as possible for each Leeds player. So many times in the past, and especially when Leeds were in the Championship, players went for bargain fees.
Lewis Cook, Robert Snodgrass, Jonny Howson, Max Gradel, Charlie Taylor – just to name a few. Even, to a degree, Kalvin Phillips’ move to Man City at an initial £42m was deemed as cheap, maybe not these days.
But it does mean that clubs are going to be put off by Leeds’ demands. West Ham are keen as Romano reports, but are put off by the price tag. It saw Gladbach fail to buy Max Wober and he is back at Leeds.
